On 16 -July-2023, the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (IIT-D) entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish an IIT Delhi campus in Abu Dhabi. The signing of the MoU took place in the presence of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the UAE.
This new MoU marks a significant development in the ‘IITs go Global’ initiative. The establishment of the IIT Delhi campus in Abu Dhabi will be the second international IIT campus, following the IIT Madras campus in Zanzibar.
Indian Minister of Education, Dharmendra Pradhan, tweeted today, expressing that the IIT Delhi campus in the UAE will serve as a shining example of innovation and expertise in the New India.
